Engstrom/Trinity/Adams: Wired ethernet ports are offered in the on-campus dorms; however they may not be activated. If the ethernet port is not active in your room, please email us at [email protected]. When a request is received, an IT representative will be dispatched to activate your port. If the port stops working, please email us at [email protected]. Please note that ethernet ports are not automatically activated at the start of the school year and is only activated upon a request submission. An example of an ethernet port is shown below:

How to use ethernet ports in dorms: When using the ethernet port in your dorm, the device you are plugging in must have it’s Media Access Control (MAC) address registered in the byod.apu.edu portal which is only available on campus via Chrome and Firefox browsers. This includes desktops, laptops, gaming systems, Smart TVs, etc. Please be sure to register the ethernet MAC address and NOT the wireless MAC address of the device you are plugging in. Please note that IT does not supply the ethernet cable, and the student must purchase it for their own use.
  • For information on how to register your specific gaming device, see the article APU-BYOD network.

Shire Mods: At this time, the Shire Mods do not have ethernet ports. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If there are any issues with these connections, please contact the IT Support Center at [email protected].
